Turtle Pond is the headwater of the Neuse River. The Neuse River is two million years old, so is Turtle Pond. It rests on 5 1/2 acres of land owned by Joe Pierce. There is an island, patio, and shed located at the pond. The pond points north, with a little river across the road, the Neuse. It is located on Semora Rd, in Roxboro , NC. This is a very famous pond in Roxboro. There is a brand new sign that says "Turtle Pond," made by myself, Corey Barnett. I live at the pond. My family has lived here since 1947. I help Joe Pierce with the upkeep of the pond. Back in the 50's there was a boat in the pond, and I now own that boat. Joe gave it to me, May of 1999. This is a 58' Penn Yan Dynamold Swift, Model CPT. This is a very very rare boat, less than 100 of these were made, and only one other known to exist. Since this boat has spent her entire life at Turtle Pond, I thought she should be named Turtle Pond. I will be launching her in a couple weeks to a month. Everyone is welcome to come. If you have any questions about the pond feel free to ask in an email: turtle_pond@email.com
